Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

Season 1 presents a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator commented recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
